Do you think people should have the right to prune their comment section, only keeping positive comments and deleting the critical ones?

I think bloggers have the right to choose which comments to approve or not. There are several comments that I haven’t approved. They weren’t critical. I approve the critical ones because it’s good to hear other opinions. Maybe someone will point out something that I hadn’t thought of before. There’s nothing wrong with a little debate. Let’s keep it civil though.
(I don’t know if I would win a debate. I’m easily distracted. That’s why I never win at Poker. I can’t sit still that long. )
There was only one that was rude. I approved it anyway. Then I killed her with kindness. She never commented again.
One guy wanted to marry me. I suspect that he wanted to marry lots of people. It was the title of his blog. “I’m Steve and I need a wife.” * I changed his name and title. Thanks for the confidence boost Steve but I’m not the marrying kind.

  1. Even nasty comments could be part of your blog history I suppose as long as it comes from a blogger and not some obtuse anonymous ‘you know what’

  2. Completely agree. I only unapprove comments that are just downright mean, nasty, hateful, or obscene…usually those are only spammers though (so far).

    1. Thanks for commenting nicely. 🙂

  3. […] I had that feeling of deja vu when I saw this prompt. Haven’t I already written about this topic? So I looked through my posts and found this post about comments. http://chasingdestino.com/2014/04/26/this-is-critical-nablopomo/ […]
