The internet has recently been swept up by the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Is there a cause — social, political, cultural, or other — you passionately believe in? Tell us how you got involved — or why you don’t get involved.
The cause that I am the most passionate about is Domestic Violence Awareness. I know many women who have been involved in an abusive relationship. Some of the women were lucky enough to get out of the situation. However, there are still women, men and families that need help. I went to a shelter with a suitcase. They were nice enough to give me a roof over my head for a short time, support groups, toothpaste and a shoulder to cry on. They were also great for helping me get back on my feet and living in the real world again.
I’ve written several posts on the blog. I always include links and phone numbers. In the next few months, I’ll be writing more posts. October is Domestic Violence Awareness month.
So the Action Ohio page has a link to sixdegrees.com, which lets anyone with a website set up a fundraiser. So why not? I’m going to set up a fundraiser that will benefit Action Ohio. If you feel so inclined, share the fundraiser link. Donate if you feel called to do so.
