How long has it been since you’ve visited Grandma ? You may also know her as Nana, MeeMaw, Granny, Grammy, Mimi.
We all have busy lives, I know.
Can’t we make some time to visit Grandma? She needs someone to check in on her. Grandma wants to give someone cookies and candy. She wants to be relevant in your life in any way that she can.
Visiting your nana is just one way to show her that you care. It will really help her in quite a few ways.
- Grandma will feel loved, which is the best reason of all.
- If grandma is in a nursing home or assisted living community, the workers will answer her call light in a timely fashion. They probably know that you’re visiting. When you visit, test out the call light and see how long it takes for someone to show up.
- In my opinion, frequent visits will help Granny fight off depression.
Why shouldn’t it be her favorite grandchild that visits? That’s you, isn’t it? I thought so
Grandparents need to feel loved! This is a great reminder for anyone who doesn’t visit often to go and do just that.
Thanks Kim! 🙂
What great thoughts. We haven’t visited grandma in awhile, but we had her up with other family before new years and we’ll see her this weekend!
Not the same, I know, but it’s a distance thing… 🙂
In that case, a phone call or a letter would be great! 🙂
Yes! We do need to call a little more. We call my dad, but I need to call my grandma, too!
You’re so smart, Holley! 😉
Thanks! I do what I can. lol 🙂
I LOVE my grams! She is my BIGGEST blog supporter and commentor. She is awesome! <3 Thanks for this reminder! #1000Speak
Awesome! 🙂 thanks for visiting. Also thanks for the shoutout to Grandma! 🙂
Definitely a good reminder. Mine isn’t here with us anymore, but I used to visit her every week, and her eyes would always light up when she saw me. <3 I miss her lots, but I'm thankful for the time I got to spend with her.

Unfortunately in order to visit my grandmas I’d have to either find a time machine and go backward or book a trip to heaven, the latter I’m in no hurry for! 😉 However, I am a Mimi and my 3 grands live 2000 miles away. I make yearly trips to visit but that’s not nearly enough but I’ve found Skype to be a nice “fill in” until I can get my arms around those lit’l ones! 🙂 – Great reminder for us all..
