What do you think makes a good photograph?
There are so many elements that go into the making of a good photograph.
- Lighting. The right lighting can make a good photograph into a great photograph. Right lighting doesn’t mean perfect. I think the lighting should make the photograph more interesting.
- Subject matter. Babies and small animals are popular. I like taking pictures of musicians. There are so many photographs of people and animals that capture the emotion of the moment. Some photographs are just so cute that we cannot stand all of the cuteness.
- Then there are all of the photographs of flowers that I really love. Imogen Cunningham probably has taken the best photographs of calla lillies in history.
- Luck, as far as being in the right place at the right time. Also, taking advantage of the opportunity to take a photo. I missed taking a picture of the guy walking around with the pink flamingo at a music festival and Robin, Batman’s sidekick, running in a marathon. I’m not sure if I’ll get the chance again. I try to pay attention. I might have to wear the camera around my neck from sunrise to sunset.
