Although I did not know Stacey Colbert, her case was in Columbus news on a regular basis beginning in March 1998. For awhile, people thought maybe she was missing but would return soon. There were missing posters with Stacey’s picture all over Columbus.
Her neighbors said that they heard loud noises and a woman screaming on the night of March 22, 1998. She was not seen alive after the night of March 21.
I always wondered if Stacey was ever found. Since moving away from Columbus, it was more difficult to keep up with the case. The internet was available but not in the way it is now.
Apparently, on November 27, 2004, Stacey’s body was found by a hunter near the Scioto River in Delaware County. I suspect that she was killed somewhere else and left in the woods.
Even after her body was found, there have not been any clues that could solve the case. It’s been 21 years since her disappearance so maybe it’s time for a fresh set of eyes to look at the case.
Stacey’s sorority sisters from Alpha Delta Pi at Ohio State University have made a Facebook page about her case. There is a video which has a timeline of important events. Please visit and share the page.
