Sleep Deprived Music Review: Freezing Cold

Freezing Cold
Freezing Cold on Bandcamp

Freezing Cold of Brooklyn, NY will be releasing their album, Glimmer, within the next week.

They sound like indie rock/punk. Freezing Cold has a lot of energy and lyrics that actually mean something. You can understand what the singer is saying which is my favorite. The songs that I like the most on this album are “Pill Box” and “New Ways to Wait.”

The music reminds me of Smashing Pumpkins. Not exactly like them but a similar vibe of trying to make a difference with music. Maybe they are just trying to play their music and not worried about making a difference. However, I don’t get the feeling that they don’t care about anything.

I would like to listen to this album while changing the world with Greta Thunberg. You probably want something with a fairly fast tempo if you’re going to protest and/or advocate for any worthy cause.

This video is kind of old but it’s the only one I can find from Freezing Cold.

Freezing Cold is Jeff Cunningham (guitar & vocals), Angie Boylan (drums and vocals – who is currently the touring drummer for Sleater Kinney), and Nick Rice (bass)
