Cold Case Quest: Anesia Rogers

Unfortunately, not too long after the homicide of Anesia Rogers in 1988, her case became a cold case. Her case was brought up again in the newspaper on November 27, 1994. I have not find any information about the case after 1994.

Anesia Rogers was strangled on Wednesday, August 3, 1998 before someone set her apartment on fire. After an investigation, the police and arson investigators concluded that the fire was set in order to hide evidence of the homicide. 21 year-old Rogers was the mother of two with a third child on the way. The fire was set in the early morning hours of August 3. The neighbor was aware of the fire at 3 a.m. She later was found in the bathroom.

The maintenance man saved the two children. Apparently, no one knew that Rogers was still in the apartment. It’s chaotic at the scene of a fire but didn’t anyone ask where she was?

The police had a lead but it didn’t pan out in 1988. Did she argue with someone that night? Could it have been a current or former boyfriend? It has been 33 years since the incident that took Rogers away from her children. Whoever has information should come forward so this case can be solved for the sake of Roger’s children.
