Interview with . . . The Foxtails

If you looking for a fun, adventurous band then look no further than Kevin and Ethan of The Foxtails. They have a new single ready for you guys to hear. I’m pretty sure that they light me up like neon musically speaking.

Please welcome The Foxtails to the blog!

Tell us about your latest project:

We just put out an electric single called NEON, BABY! A song about meeting someone who lights you up like Vegas neon.

Where was your first concert as a fan? As a performer?

Kevin: The first concert was Kanye West on the Saint Pablo Tour! As a performer, we’re still waiting to make that debut due to the effects of Covid unfortunately.

Ethan: Aaron Carter, and oh yeah I was a fan. I still know most of the words to “Aaron, oh Aaron”. It’s because we’re both Finns. As a performer, probably some gig in high school. Foxtails live debut though is coming soon!

What is the secret to writing good music?

Kevin: a hearty pour of honesty and a shot of music theory

Ethan: Write honest, edit sober

Do you have a bucketlist? If so, what’s on it?

Kevin: Open my own coffee shop and play The Troubador in LA.

Ethan: Skydiving and shark cage diving. Also playing Coachella would be great too.

What was the last thing that you read?

Kevin: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson

Ethan: The Coddling of the American Mind by Greg Lukianoff and Jonathan Haidt, and The Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut

What are you listening to at the moment?

Kevin: The Doors, Arctic Monkeys, The 1975

Ethan: Always the 1975, Chet Baker, My Chemical Romance

If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing?

Kevin: Still be a rocket scientist but one who was sad

Ethan: Selling my life to the man

Who would you like to collaborate with in the future?

Kevin: Elton John

Ethan: Gerard Way, Jacob Collier, Lizzy McAlpine, John Mayer

What do you want people to know about your music?

Kevin: We make music for a reason. And every track we put out has our passion and our promise that we think it kicks ass.

Ethan: It’s the difference between a good day, and the day you will look back on the most fondly from your deathbed. Also sending our songs is 99% guaranteed to make that one person text you back

“Just a small town girl – living in a lonely world.” Concert tickets are practically essential. Musicals are the key to life. I like movies, music, books, and corny jokes.
