The Noise Who Runs is an indie-electronic duo with Ian Pickering, formerly of Sneaker Pimps, and guitarist Felipe Goes. They may remind you of The Talking Heads. The Noise Who Runs also walks to their own synthesized beat.
The name of the band is a literal translation of ‘O bruit qui cour,’ a French phrase meaning ‘gossip.’ Ô Bruit Qui Court is also the name of Pickering’s favorite restaurant, where he was thought of many ideas for the project.
If I was naming a band after a restaurant, I would pick reine laitiere, also known as Dairy Queen. It’s not a fancy place but the name sounds beautiful. What would restaurant would you choose as a band name?
So getting back to the music, they recently released a new album. As of April 21, the ‘Preteretrospective’ album is available across digital music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.
