Why I’m Thankful for Books: Top Ten Tuesday

 Why I’m Thankful for Books

Books have been my favorite companions since I learned to read. I have always had a book within reach.

What would I have done without books? The following list contains the top ten reasons that I am eternally grateful for books.

1. Boredom. Books have saved me from an insane amount of boredom.

2. Knowledge. Many books provided some sort of knowledge that I didn’t have before.

3. Adventure. Books have adventure that I haven’t had in real life.

4. Imaginary Friends

When I was a kid, it was difficult to make friends. So thank goodness for books with characters that were friend-like.

5. Real Friends

When I did have actual friends, we could always talk about books.

6. Blog Friends

Many of my friends are currently from blogging. They are mostly bookish people.

7. Different Genres

There are so many genres. We should never be bored.

8. Books made into movies

I enjoy watching movies based on books.

9. Book signings

One of my favorite things to do is attending book signings with authors.

10. Libraries

I love libraries! They do so much for communities. Plus, free books to borrow.

  1. I love all your reasons, but I especially like #3. I’m not a person who likes real risk and danger. In fiction, though? I love those vicarious thrills! They give me an adrenaline rush while I’m nice and safe 🙂

    Happy TTT!

    1. Thank you! I am also not as adventurous as I’d like. Fear of heights, etc.
