Her Dear and Loving Husband: #Spooktober Book Review

.

The book is set in Salem, Massachusetts. It’s the perfect setting for a book about vampires and witches.

Sarah has had awful nightmares for many years. She has also recently divorced her husband and moved to Salem. In many of the dreams, it’s like she’s seeing someone else’s memories. She also sees a man without a face that she thinks is her husband – not her ex-husband. Who is he? Are her dreams really memories?

While taking a tour of Salem, she is intrigued by one of the houses and its owner, James. Apparently, Sarah looks like his wife who passed away. James doesn’t tell her that his wife died during the Salem Witch Trials or that he is a vampire. Sarah and James start spending quite a bit of time together and are starting to fall in love. At first, James isn’t sure if he likes Sarah because she looks like his wife.

Her best friend/boss is a witch, J . J and her coven want to help Sarah learn more about what’s going on with her dreams. J also knows that James is a vampire and pleads with him to tell Sarah. She thinks it will help them both to move forward with their relationship.

After some hesitation, Sarah agrees to do a past life regression session. The session reveals so much that I cannot tell you. It will all make sense to you after you read the book for yourself.

Besides the issues with Sarah, James is trying to avoid a vampire hunter who is also a reporter. He’s pretty sure that the vampire hunter is going to expose him and his vampire friends.

If you like vampire romances, then you will enjoy Her Dear and Loving Husband. If you are a vampire hunter or have something against witches, then you might not like this book.

Haunted Road Trip for Spooktober

If you are looking something a bit spooky to do this Spooktober, Car Rentals has invented a spook meter to rank seven of America’s most haunted roads. Who wouldn’t love a good old-fashioned scary road trip? When my boyfriend finds out about the haunted road trip, he will have the car packed in record time.

There is a unique story along with a podcast or book to discover even more of the legends on each road. The roads are conveniently laid out in a bone-chilling route that takes around six hours to complete.

If you are brave enough, follow the spooky link to uncover the detailed stories of Amerca’s most haunted roads.

#WeekendCoffeeShare: Queen of Halloween Edition

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that the kid, Lucas and I went to the Halloween festivities in town. It was so much fun.
I put my outfit together in 15 minutes. Luckily, I had a vision and it panned out.
The kid won 3rd place in the costume contest. If we had gone with green skin, she could’ve won. But she was happy with her regular sized Kit-Kat so we’re happy.
There wasn’t an adult costume category. Kind of disappointed. I could’ve won a regular sized candy bar too.
However, I did a good deed for a friend and totally feel like I’m the Queen of Halloween. The kid also wished that Halloween never ended. I feel the same way. She is totally going to be the next Queen of Halloween.

Hoping for a Mad Hatter Halloween: #Blogtober15

My favorite fall memories are almost all related to Halloween. I loved going trick-or-treating when I was a kid. There was candy and costumes. My aunt hates Halloween but she would always come to see my costume. Then she would go into hiding until the coast was clear from trick-or-treaters. I think she still does hides until Halloween is over.

When I was in college, there were Halloween parties. So two of my favorite things, dressing up and dancing, in one night. Plus, boys. It was a win-win-win. So much winning in those days.

When I was a young adult, the Halloween parties had costumes, dancing and booze.

After having kids, I got to dress them up for trick-or-treating and Halloween parades. My kids have been a variety of witches, unicorns, princesses, dragons, lions, superheroes and vampires.

This year the teenager is going to be a Steampunk masquerade person. The middle kid wants to be Wolverine. The youngest wants to be a vampire. I’m still aiming for the Mad Hatter.

That one time we went to Zombie prom.

Lucas thinks I should dress everyone as a vampire and scare the neighbor. No matter what, we have to make a trip to the Halloween store for wigs and hats and Wolverine claws. We’re already set with the vampire teeth.
