Burnt

Burnt

Remember yesterday, when your home was on fire and you
got to save five items? That means you left a lot of stuff
behind. What are the things you wish you could have taken,
but had to leave behind?

I wish that I could’ve taken my teapots. I used to have a decent collection but now I’m down to four teapots.
It would’ve been nice to take my DVD collection. I’ll miss all of the musicals and boxing movies. There’s always Netflix.
My hope chest was just too heavy to save. It was a gift from my parents. I saved my oldest kid’s dance costume even though it was a clown costume. There was also picture of us after she was born. I look so happy with my new baby.
I won’t miss my clothes too much, except my Darth Vader shirt. My kids will miss my black heels. They all wear those shoes more than I do. I will have to get a new pair of heels for them to dress up in.
I still have my memories and my family, which is what really matters. I can get new boxing movies and teapots later.

“Just a small town girl – living in a lonely world.” Concert tickets are practically essential. Musicals are the key to life. I like movies, music, books, and corny jokes.

      1. I think I replaced mine at daylight savings time. (They always seems to go out around that time anyway.)
Not a bad idea to test the alarms anyway. Maybe not in the middle of the night.
