Dating a Celebrity Doppelganger: Shaggy & Velma

ExpressYourselfBlack

Have you ever known someone or dated someone who could be a celebrity twin?

If Shaggy from Scooby-Doo counts as a celebrity, then yes I have. The boyfriend had longer hair. His wardrobe was spot on though. Brown corduroys and a green t-shirt.

We could have dressed up like Shaggy and Velma for Halloween. I could’ve bought a skirt, a Scooby-Doo plush and some knee-highs. So we could have dressed up for under $20. How perfect! 🙂 Or should I say Jinkies?

Current boyfriend is less Shaggy. . . more Lobo. He’s not quite as angry though. I’m pretty sure he won’t dress up like Lobo at comic book conventions but he could totally pull it off. 🙂

“Just a small town girl – living in a lonely world.” Concert tickets are practically essential. Musicals are the key to life. I like movies, music, books, and corny jokes.

  1. Oh yes – Shaggy def counts as a celebrity. 😉

I was thinking of you earlier today… well… not really. I spotted a comp, and thought of whom I thought might possibly be you… but I might have gotten it completely wrong, and possibly even gotten Star Trek and Star Wars mixed up (oh my other half would kill me!).

Are you the one who like to go to conventions? Like Sci-Fi ones?

If so, then I WAS thinking of the right person (*pats self on back*)… otherwise, just ignore everything I’ve ssaid, apart from the bit about Shaggy. 😀

There’s a competition where you can win a part in the new Star Wars film!

Yes, loads of option where you can pay to enter… but if you read the rules, there’s a “free” option. Free and free, it will cost a postage stamp. 😀

Click “Enter to win”. Terms and conditions on the bottom of the page:
“For free entry: (i) send post card to Sponsor at PO Box 3190, 1217 Wilshire Blvd., Santa Monica, California 90408”

    1. I think I am the one you are thinking of. 🙂 I do like Comic books, comic book conventions/sci-fi conventions. Comic books and sci-fi kind of overlap as far as similar audiences, etc. That would be soooo coool!!! I’m definitely gonna check it out! 🙂 THANKS!!! Whoo hoo!!

    2. Star Wars & Star Trek. Completely different yet easy to mix up. 🙂 I might even spend the $10 to enter. 🙂 It’s for a good cause.

      1. Hahahahaha- oh I think any hardcore Trekkies, or Star Wars fans would disagree. 😀

I used to like Star Wars, until the three new pre-quels came. And although no Trekkie, I enjoy Star Trek the original series, and also the new films.

But when it comes to the “technical stuff” – like which one has light sabers I go completely blank. Hahahaha.

I’ll be sending off a postcard for the other half, although I think the cause it’s for is great. But $10 is a $10, and I think I could do a few postcards for that price.

That said, one entry is all it takes, as long as that one gets picked as the winner. 😀 A few years ago there was a high-value prize on offer, where there was a premium line to call (I think it cost £1.50 per minute to leave your details)… but with an option to send off a postcard instead. I know there was hundreds of thousands of entries… my postcard was the one picked as the winner. 😀

Best of luck to you! *fingers crossed*

      2. Well, for me it’s like when i call my children by the wrong name. They’re all special & different. I just say 1st name on my mind. 🙂

  2. funny post – and one of our former Lax coaches had a wife who looked like Velma – well everyone referred to her as that because she could have passed for her – and funny that you dated a look-alike for Shaggy – ha!
