Olympic medalist Jim Ryun said: “Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.” Where do you find the motivation to start a new habit?
As some of you know, I have started doing yoga and also eating healthier. The motivation comes from not wanting to be stuck wearing sweat pants.
Plus, if I’m this fat and don’t exercise or eat healthy food, I will regret it for more reasons than having to wear sweat pants.
I also do not want to cross the line into full-blown diabetes. Finger sticks forever does not sound like the path that I want to go down. So if I can stay away from junk food and drop the weight, maybe I can keep the diabetes at bay for awhile longer. My doctor told me that 14 years ago. It’s about time that I took his advice.
