#WeekendCoffeeShare: Let’s Go to the Movies with Miss America edition

If we were having coffee, I would tell you

  • that the job scene is promising. I’ll know more by next weekend. I’m very hopeful that by next month, I’ll be Marian the Librarian.
  • I’ve started a book. It could be good or it could suck. I’m working towards good stuff.
  • I’m still working on a few interviews. That reminds me that I have to think of more questions.
  • that Lucas & I went to the movie premiere of “Gore Orphanage.” It was fun. I will post more about it later.
  • Lucas & I waiting for things to happen.

Lucas & I waiting for things to happen.

  • While we were at the theater, we met Jackie Mayer. She was Miss America 1963. Β She is also from Sandusky, Ohio. On a side note, she is a stroke survivor and does a lot of good things to help other stroke survivors. I saw her speak when I was at Girls State . . . a long time ago.

    Jackie Mayer and I

Can you believe that we didn’t go to the after-party? We did not. We were starving and didn’t think our chances of getting food was very good. So we went somewhere else where our luck with getting the right food was pretty bad. They served me his super spicy chicken We didn’t know until after I send the super spicy chicken back. I don’t like having the allergic reaction thing happen in public. It’s kind of embarrassing. And you know, the whole not being able to breathe for a minute is no fun.

  • The waiter wanted to blame me but my boyfriend was like “Dude, you gave us the wrong plates.” The waiter didn’t listen and still tried to reprimand me. He probably didn’t think I was the one doing the tipping. He is sooo lucky because Lucas would not have tipped him.
  • He also gave Lucas the wrong beer. We didn’t let it go to waste. I drank half of it. It was a really, really dark beer that I would order. Lucas likes those hoppy IPA beers.
  • Anyway, that is all I have for now. I have to go work on something. There’s so much to do. Napping might be #1 thing on the to-do list today. Then question brainstorming.

About holley4734

I could be the worst cook in America. My boyfriend tells his friends about my cooking disasters. I'm glad someone is amused. I like movies, music, comic books and corny jokes. View all posts by holley4734

Maybe you’ll come up with a question while you sleep. It could happen. Take a nap!

Good luck with the job hunt and with writing the interview questions!

OOh, good luck with the job interview!

I can’t believe the way some waiters act. I think in general, all people have this issue with saying their “sorry.” I don’t get it, people make mistakes, just admit it!

Anyway, glad you are OK. Good luck with the job hunt!

I knew Jackie Mayer, not to brag; just a fact. Her Dad worked with my Dad, my Mom was a teacher at Perkins H. S. in Sandusky. We had her babysit us when she was a teensger, we went to see her crowned Miss Sandusky, Miss Ohio and also, to went to see her in Atlantic City get to win Miss America. I wrote about her on my blog and she was the nicest young woman. I moved at end of 3rd grade so only heard about her stroke 😦 from parents. Small world and Congratulations for making it to Girls State. I talk about working 2 summers at Cedar Point and living in the dorms there. I have her Miss America picture and memories but you are so lucky to have photo with her! I went to Perkins Elementary, 1961-64. I had Miss Robinson for 3rd grade and Miss Neighthart for Kindergarten. My friends were Amy and Beth Wiesler, Lori Widdoes, Pam Auble and my brothers and I had Billy Boos’ and Pam’s mother as daytime babysitters.

This is amazing how our lives interconnect. So happy to hear about your nieces and nephews in my Alma mater elementary school. πŸ™‚ I used to live on Scottley Drive, Mr. and Mrs. Boos with sons Danny and Billy, with sister Diane lived on Schiller Drive. They were my brothers’ friends along with Scott Auble. I wrote to a woman who writes a blog called Silver in the Barn and she said her husband knew a boy I had a crush on from my second Cedar Point employment year from Huron. She lives down south and who would have expected a real live connection? Too bad he may not be single and looking me up! Lol
