that it was a pretty good week. Coffee was made. I was the only one drinking coffee again, except on that one day that I slept too long. There was no time for doing much of anything on that day.
On most days, I worked, slept, read books, took some pictures and watched Netflix. Also, I drove the kids to an activity or two. It was a pretty typical week . . .
Until Saturday . . . when we went to the Comic Con in Columbus. It was just Lucas, Eva and I this time.
Eva dressed up like Super Girl. We forgot the cape but no one cried about it. She still looked really cute. She’s still a little shy about asking people to take pictures with her.
I dressed up like Lois Lane. Well, like Lois Lane if she were a hipster or a retro hipster. It worked. No one cried about it.
I tried to get Lucas to dress up like Clark Kent. He didn’t think he looked enough like Clark Kent to pull it off. (He would make an excellent Lobo though. He also does not want to dress up like Lobo. Maybe it’s too much leather?
I spent most of the time looking for a Superman so Eva, aka Supergirl, could have her picture taken with him. Superman is an elusive being. I could not find him anywhere.
I couldn’t even find Clark Kent. I still have his name badge.
If you want to know about how to make DIY Halloween costumes, Pinterest is full of ideas as usual.
P.S. My boyfriend does not want to do any of them. Maybe Clark Kent will go with me next year.
Finally!! We found Superman . . . with Wonder Woman, of course.
I almost went camping with my boyfriend at the Rootwire Music Festival. It’s in Ohio somewhere. At a campground. I think you had to pay extra for showering.
My boyfriend calls me a decepticon because I used to go camping with him. I didn’t tell him that camping is not my favorite thing.
I didn’t go again for the fourth year in a row . I stayed home with the kid, the rabbit and Manny Pacquiemeow, the cat. By the way, the cat is a jerk.
My time was spent reading, watching Netflix, cleaning and not leaving the house too much. Although, I had to go buy coffee creamer. I was going to buy pizza but the freezer at the store was not working. I had to tell the cashier. But at least the ice cream freezer was ok. I also forgot to buy ice cream.
Is it ironic that someone who doesn’t leave the house much thinks about traveling so much? It’s mostly because I don’t like driving. Someday, I’ll go see the world. My bank account also says no at the moment.
I found a budget app because I need help budgeting. I can do it but I get lazy about it. Then before you know it – broke again. I should be able to afford comic books by October. Maybe September.
I watched the entire season of Riverdale. I’m trying to watch Supernatural still. I made it through the first episode.
I’m trying to decide what album to do a review on for next week. There are a few to choose from. I thought I had a list but I can’t find it. Will have to start the list from scratch.
I have a 100 or more pages to read of “The Midnight Queen.” What are the odds that I’ll finish and have a book review ready by tomorrow?
I have to take pictures today. It’s not like it’s a requirement. It’s only for the blog. I can’t help myself though. I’m almost always taking pictures.
If you get a chance, check out my #weekendcoffeeshare board on Pinterest. If you’re in the link-up, I try to share your post on Pinterest- even if you don’t have a Pinterest button.
it’s hot. I’m ok with being hot but my coffee is not.
I quit my job again. I’ve also been struggling with how to put that on job applications. People frown upon it when you say, “I hated it. My boss was a bitch.” It’s the truth but people don’t want to hire people that say it out loud.
So I’ve been blogging more, hanging out with the kids and being poor. Plus, Netflix. Lots of Netflix.
I got through the current season of Orange is the New Black, all five seasons of Breaking Bad, most of The Keepers, a few episodes of the Queen of the South.
Honestly, it has been worth being broke to drive my kids around to band and tennis. The struggle to get my younger two off of their iPads is a real thing. I read an article that said iPads and tablets are like cocaine to kids. I believe it completely.
ChoreMonster is the best app in the world. Whatever gets my kids to do something besides play Minecraft is my favorite. If you’re a parent, you should look into it.
At the moment, my kids are at their grandma’s house getting spoiled and not doing any chores or reading any books.
My oldest kid brought her bunny over for a few weeks. I’ve been feeding him and trying to keep the cat away. There may have been a picture or two taken.
In about two days, I will be fired. It is going to be the most glorious thing that has happened in the last year. No regrets. Not one.
While switching to days was a good thing, I also received a new supervisor who is a psychotic bitch. She makes fun of her workers and the powers that be keep her. So I’m not staying one more minute.
My knee is the size of a pumpkin again. It’s inflammation (aka arthritis).
This week, I will be spending time looking for a job.
I’m hoping that I don’t have to grow my hair back in order to get a job. It would be disappointing. I’m so close to having circa 1990s Prince hair.
One of my other goals is to work on one or both of my books. There’s a third book in the mix somewhere.
I’ll get to see my kids and drive them every damn place. It will be pretty awesome.
I foresee a lot of coffee in the near future. There’s so much to do: Get a job. Finish writing 3 books. Keep Prince on heavy music rotation per the usual. Drive kids everywhere. Stay positive. The end.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you. . .
-That i bought new two new creamers. Bailey’s. I go through coffee supplies pretty quickly. Shopping at 7 am is quiet. Also, only the self-checkout lanes are open. Yuck.
-We’re mostly done watching Boardwalk Empire.
-I’m on the hunt for female comic book artists or female surfers. Does anyone know anyone on a personal level? A to Z Challenge is coming!! I might be freaking out a little.
-I’m not failing at lunch lately. I have at least one friend. I’m on the edge of lonely. Is that a Lady Gaga song?
-My kid wanted to wear her swimming goggles.
We mermaids miss summer.
What are you guys up to this week?
If we were having coffee, I would tell you . . .
– I love the Almond Joy coffee creamer.
– Finding the balance between work, home and blogging has been a challenge. I did mostly photo posts this week.
– that I’m still working 3rd shift.
-I haven’t given anyone the finger or told them to take the job and shove it. Almost.
– But I like having money to buy the aforementioned coffee creamer.
– I also work so I can buy concert tickets and band merch. Black Sabbath is a strong contender. So is George Clinton. I lost most of my hearing at a Parliament show from standing too close to the speakers. I will have ear plugs for the next show.
– Lucas doesn’t think I need more sweatshirts. I disagree. I need more things to wear to work since I don’t have to wear scrubs.
– Right now, I’m waiting on a phone call from a band. And waiting . . .
I have watched a ton of movies. Just this weekend: The Trouble with the Curve. Guardians of the Galaxy. Into the Woods. Warrior. The second season of True Blood.
Plus, I am almost finished reading “Go Set a Watchman.”
I have done my nails a lot. #Nailjedi
My boyfriend found soy peanut butter. I guess it’s not peanut butter. It’s like soy butter. It tastes better than it sounds.
That I’m thirsty for booze and coffee and a sense of accomplishment.
I’m still blogging away over here. Trying to make something out of nothing. Did you know that millions of people have blogs? Millions of bloggers.
So I did re-learn the lesson about how important it is to share posts of fellow bloggers. That’s how things go viral. Don’t forget to share posts – my posts, your bloggy friends posts, awesome posts that you love. All of that should be shared. Thanks for the reminder Helene in Between!
Every few months, I redo my Triberr profile. Apparently I have not done it in quite some time because my feed was stalled. I get a lot of shares on Twitter from authors of erotica.
I tried some Sugarlands Shine, the cinnamon flavor. It has the picture of some guy named Tickle. My erotica author friends might appreciate Tickle or the hot cinnamon booze. Emphasis on hot and Tickle. My other friends would like the fact that it’s 70 proof. Emphasis on booze.
I drank some of the moonshine. I could barely finish my glass because I felt very boozy. I finished it because I’m not a quitter.
