Today I registered to do a half-marathon. If you knew me, you would know that I’m not a runner in any way.
A half-marathon is about 13 miles. 13. Miles. So in theory, I should be able to run to the neighboring town by August. Right now, I’m not sure if I can run to the edge of the town, which is not quite a mile.
The Rock Hall Half Marathon is on my birthday so I thought it would be nice to challenge myself. Hopefully, I won’t vomit in front of thousands of people . . . . again.
My teenager thinks I’m crazy. She is convinced that someone else has invaded my body.
She’s like “You know that it’s running, right? What if you get lost? Are zombies running after you?”
Kids. What can I say. This running thing is not my thing but it doesn’t mean I should continue to be lazy.
I’m in the process of mapping out runs where no one has to see me suffer, sweat or vomit. You will thank me, I promise.
P.S. Unfortunately, I did not achieve this goal. Total bummer.
Good luck in your endeavours.
Good luck!
I found the easiest thing to do is to run a bit, walk a bit, otherwise you hurt too much and don’t want to do it again. (I often don’t for long periods, but when I do the run walk saves me from immediately giving up)
Oh wow! That’s quite a challenge! Good luck. 😀
