Sleep Deprived Music Review: Ashland

Ashland, the duo of Asia Woodward and Aaron Wood, released Wildfire in 2017.

Their music is a little bit rock and a little bit pop. They remind me of Paramore and Cyndy Lauper – powerful vocals, guitars and a synthesizer. Ashland is kind of sugary and a little bitter – like Sour Punch candy.

If I could be in a band, I’d want to be in a band like Ashland. Alas, not everyone has talent or time to be in a band. Ashland has talent though. So they can probably afford to make time to make music for the rest of us.

Some of us will have to live vicariously through them. Until we are blessed with musical talent, we can get together to listen to Ashland and eat Sour Punch candy. I’m ready to “Turn it Up” and “Keep Moving.”

Let me know what day works out for you.
