Interview

Who is answering the questions?

Carlo “Karlo” Loglisci – Singer and Guitarist

Band/Artist Name: The Blacklava

Where was your first concert as a fan? As a performer?

My sister, who is 9 years older than me, took me to the concert of an Italian band, 99 Posse. I was 11 years old. It was great because it was in my hometown club. It was a medium- sized club and although I grew up in a small town in northern Italy, this place has hosted many artists who are now famous. The first Blink 182, Radiohead and many others. instead we did the first concert with my band when I was 16. The place had a wire mesh that divided the band from the audience.

Do you have a bucketlist? If so, what’s on it?

It is very difficult to say in this historical period! Being in forced quarantine at home for Covid-19 for 17 days. My luck is that at home I have many things to do and I have created a perfect family environment. It’s me, my girlfriend and my two dogs. Obviously my two dogs are super happy! For many it is not so and the atmosphere you breathe is not very happy. What I wanted before was to be able to be with my band, go around playing and possibly become better known. It is now difficult how the world will have changed after this pandemic. there are many aspects that will change and speaking of music, I don’t know how the world will change. a good thing is that I haven’t heard of Trap music in 17 days! 🙂

What was the last thing that you read?

A book on Japan. On March 21, I was supposed to go on vacation there! A trip that I had been planning for a year! Luckily, being a global pandemic, hotels and airplanes have been fully reimbursed, so I’ll have to wait to see magnificent places here! It means that I will continue to read my beloved Manga and see Anime!

What are you listening to at the moment?

While I’m answering the interview I’m listening to the latest I Prevail record. Some songs are very cool and some a little too catchy. 🙂 The one I like best is Paranoid. The listening method is very particular. I listen to a song that I like in a loop until I get bored! When there is something I like I do it in a loop! There was a period in I just wanted sushi! over time I learned to dose what I like. 🙂

If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing?

Anything creative. I need a lot of creative stimuli so I tried to act, to be a director, a photographer, a videomaker, a graphic designer, a writer, an alternative singing teacher, a cartoonist (I am absolutely unable to draw). When I get tired of singing or I’m at a standstill I pass to my other passions!

Who would you like to collaborate with in the future?

I would like to collaborate with a producer with balls! I’d like to work with the royal blood producer! and I’d like to work with a team of videomakers to create something cool! Like the Deutschland video. fantastic!

What do you want people to know about your music?

That we are sincere and genuine boys and that our music reaches the heart because it is true! All our works have been recorded in our guitarist’s studio and we don’t want to  change the errors in post production. So if something doesn’t come the first time rather than using the programs we’ll do it better!
