How many times a day do you wish you had something witty to say? What would Jane Austen do?

I have discovered two books that could help us figure out what Jane Austen might have done. I haven’t finished either one so this is not a review. It’s just a suggestion to take a look at the books.

What Would Jane Do? is a book of quotes and poems by Jane Austen. So it’s a book with some wisdom from Jane Austen herself.

What Matters in Jane Austen by John Mullan has been a fairly interesting read so far. He talks about things like how the age of the characters in the books is a bit different from their age in the movies. There are other topics but I think it’s interesting how Austen sees age differently than Hollywood or the BBC.

“Just a small town girl – living in a lonely world.” Concert tickets are practically essential. Musicals are the key to life. I like movies, music, books, and corny jokes.
