I Am a Rocketship recently presented ‘Gravity,’ the second single from their soon-to-be released album, ‘La Cruella.” Since we all need more music that is good for dancing away a broken heart, “Gravity” is our track of the day. I don’t know why we love music that makes our heart ache a little. We just do.
The Atlanta indie duo of Eric Weissinger and L E Kippner released their first album in 2016. They met in Cleveland and relocated to Atlanta. Whatever changed during the move seems to still be working for them.
“This is an end-of-summer song. Kind of groovy but a little melancholy. I was trying to channel a bit of Steely Dan and some The War on Drugs here,” says Eric Weissinger.
L E Kippner adds, “It’s about allowing yourself to trust someone to catch your fall but it’s also about letting go”.
‘Gravity’ is currently available on Bandcamp. On August 4, the full ‘La Cruella’ album will be released on all music platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.
