Mike Gale, a British singer/songwriter, has released his new single ‘Grumble Pie,’ from his upcoming album ‘Thanks for Always Waving.’ We are trying to maintain our positivity after a weird day. Did everyone in my neighborhood eat grumble pie? Grumble. Grumble. So we thought ‘Grumble Pie” was a good choice for the Track of the Day.

Paul Simon and Harry Nilsson fans will most certainly enjoy Gale’s music. I think that people will appreciate his musicianship and songwriting. He appears to be a very hands-on musician. In addition to singing and songwriting, Gale played multiple instruments, produced, recorded, and mixed the album. He even took his own photograph.

“I suppose that, lyrically, it’s about trying to focus on the things you have, rather than don’t have. Seems like something that should be easy to do,” says Mike Gale.

“I remember Grumble Pie being that song that happens with most albums I’ve done, where you get a feel for the direction the album is going to go. I felt like I had a handle on the rest of the recording after this one. I also left my mistake in the guitar solo bit to remind myself never to do solos.”
