June Divided has a new EP, Body Wars, available on all digital platforms. One of their singles, “Firestarter,” reminded me that I’ve never seen the Drew Barrymore classic movie of the same name. When it came out, I was too young and prone to nightmares. Now young kids like June Divided have never even heard of it. I still haven’t seen it but I have listened to the song, “Firestarter.”
Don’t hold it against anyone. Read the interview and listen to June Divided’s music instead.

What kind of pizza do you like?
Free!
Does pineapple belong on pizza?
We don’t judge!
Where was your first show?
The Fire in Philly
Do you have an opinion on the term “Female fronted rock band?”
When used in the wrong context, confusing gender with genre is pretty ignorant and antiquated. The term is also just kind of pointless. I am so very proud to be female, but it doesn’t have much to do with the music we make. We’re a band, so just call us a band.
Is there an app that you need that hasn’t been invented yet?
A hangover app. Not sure how that would even work but I wish it were real.
What is the best thing about your hometown?
We can’t pick one, so here’s a few: Philly has great food, a great music scene and we won the Superbowl last year and the entire city predictably lost its mind.
Is there a correlation between your song “Firestarter” and the movie?
Was not aware of the movie, so no.
If you could choose an extraordinary power, what would it be?
Teleportation so we could get to venues faster.
