Octopus on left, Squid on the right. Butterfly roll in the back.
The squid was kind of plain. The octopus was almost impossible to eat without shark teeth or a sharp knife. I didn’t have either of those things.
The butterfly roll has eel, shrimp, avocado and cucumber. It was delicious.
In this one plate, I crossed three things off of the bucket list.
It was a struggle to find a falafel near me. We live in a small town near other small towns. So we found a place that serves falafels when we went to Cleveland. Actually, there were several places that had falafels on the menu.
I wasn’t sure if I was going to like the falafel. It turns out that I love falafels. I would even buy a restaurant just to be closer to falafels.
My grandpa used to make homemade ice cream during the summer. He had a little ice cream maker. It was always delicious. My grandpa made the summers special.
I found this recipe for ice cream that doesn’t require a churn. Where would someone even get a churn? Would I even know what it looks like?
When I started, I had all of the ingredients. Halfway through making the ice cream, it came to my attention that I didn’t have a blender. Or a whisk. No loaf pan in site.
Still, I carried on and made the ice cream anyway. It’s in the freezer. Thank goodness that we have one.
Hopefully, someone will be brave enough to try the ice cream.
This is the recipe that I used in case you guys want to try it.
Homemade Oreo Ice Cream
Constant craving. Frosties and French fries.
Strawberry shortcake bar. I hope the kids don’t know we have them yet.
It’s only a matter of time . . .
